Dental Implants Presentation
To provide you with a better understanding of dental implants, we have provided the following multimedia presentation. Many common questions pertaining to dental implants are discussed.
What Are Dental Implants?
A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown. If you compare natural teeth to implant-supported replacement teeth, you’ll see they have the same basic parts. Both have a crown (the visible part used to chew food). Both have a root that holds the tooth securely under the gum and is anchored into the jaw. The difference is that the implant is made of titanium – the same time-tested material used by surgeons for artificial joints. When you lose a tooth, you lose both the root and the crown. To replace the tooth, the surgeon first replaces the root with a small dental implant.
Time is allowed for bone to heal and grow around the dental implant. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. A support post (abutment) is then placed on the implant and a new replacement tooth (crown) is placed on top of the abutment. In many cases a temporary replacement tooth can be attached to the implant immediately after it is placed. If all of your teeth are missing, a variety of treatment options are available to support the replacement teeth.
“Don’t be afraid to Smile.”
For years I’d felt like a part of my body was missing — because my teeth were. My dentist told me that dental implants would make me feel and look a lot better. OK, I said. Now, I’m thrilled. I can smile, eat anything, and enjoy a good laugh with my friends.
Using the most recent advances in dental implant technology, Dr. Reeh is able to place premium implants. There are even situations where the implant can be placed at the same time as the tooth extraction – further minimizing your number of surgical procedures.
Dental implant placement is a team effort between Dr. Reeh and your restorative dentist. Dr. Reeh performs the actual implant surgery, initial tooth extractions, and bone grafting if necessary. The restorative dentist (your dentist) fits and makes the permanent prosthesis. Your dentist will also make any temporary prosthesis needed during the implant process. Dr. Reeh is also able to provide for your dentist tools to assist in making your procedure as easy as possible.

What can I say: why would you ever go to any other dentist -when you can have Dr Reeh!!! He is the absolute best dentist----period!!! If I lived on the other side of the country I would make the trip to have Dr. Reeh perform my dental work. When I had my root canal performed last year by Dr. Reeh--I fell asleep!!! I just had a tooth removed because it had cracked under my gum line-he also preformed the implant procedure. Dr. Reeh knows exactly what nerves to "put to sleep" so you absolutely do not feel a thing! Dr. Reeh is extremely through is his explanation of every part of the procedure. Before and after care instructions are impeccably prepared and explained! Thank you!!!

The anxiety over the impending placement of an implant was wasted energy. Excluding the injection of anesthesia; the procedure & recovery was nearly painless..........Roger

Outstanding!! Current in knowledge and techniques! Sense of humor! Gentle and kind! They really listened to what I had to say, when the plan of care/options was being developed. I was so impressed they had a staff meeting about my treatment and care, before I was led back to the beautiful view treatment room! They are consistent in their approach to total patient care and concerns that arise! The procedure was done with the least pain as possible. They were aware of my anxiety about dental procedures. In professionally handling that concern, they took out time from the procedure, at an appropriate moment, to let me have a short break to walk around and have a few moments reprieve. That further cemented my impression of the calibers of individuals they are!! I was so grateful to receive two separate phone calls, inquiring of any questions or concerns I had, over the next two days. Dr Rhee and his staff are experts at all they do! I no longer dread seeking dental care. I have complete and total confidence from my experience at their office!!! I cannot overemphasize what a wonderful experience this was!! A heart-felt thank you for everything!!!
